Project Coordinator -- Iowa

The Project Coordinator will provide professional door hardware specification services to the architectural community as a “pull through” sales strategy to penetrate the market. The Project Coordinator will be the main contact on specific projects with the architecture firm. This includes reviewing shop drawings of distributor submittals, and providing expert analysis on product comparisons. The Project Coordinator will own the project relationship with the architecture firm and connect the firm with local specification writer if needed. They will manage specification projects from inception until the project is quoted including tracking, CRM information, and communication with the local sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for relationship with architecture firms project managers on specific projects

  • Lead product and application preference meetings with owners and architects

  • Participate in pre and post installation meetings. Assist the architect with revisions, access control coordination, and requests for information during all phases of the project.

  • Participates in on-site or virtual project review meetings with Owner, Architect, Electrician, Hardware Supplier, Access Control Suppler

  • Communicate strategic project information to assist in the formation of a project call strategy for the end user and distributor sales force.

  • Obtain project schedule dates and obtain submittals

  • Exhibit an understanding of electro-mechanical products and solutions including access control and software.

  • Support the development of a complete access control package specification including riser diagrams

  • Collaborate closely with the local project sales manager on specification projects and market meetings

  • Work in conjunction with Sales Consultants making joint sales calls, issuing spec guides, etc.

  • Maintain excellent industry/competitor product knowledge by reviewing and understanding market data of competitive activity. Adapt to change in marketplace.

  • Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 6+ years industry experience

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions, including options spanning from mechanical access/egress control to total facility integration

  • Basic understanding of electricity and electronic components

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action

  • Strong customer focus

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

  • AHC certification preferred
