The Material Distribution (MD) member will independently perform the full range of MD duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Technical Glass Products. This will include the receipt and inspection of incoming material, inventory control, and order fulfillment of raw material, and shop supplies for Production. This position will work closely with other internal departments to ensure that Technical Glass Products finished products meet our customers’ expectations of superior quality and on time delivery.
Receive incoming raw material, finished goods, shop supplies, and services. Accurately process receiving documents (e.g. supplier pack slips and TGP receiving work sheets and purchase orders).
Label and locate incoming material to appropriate area(s) as required.
Promptly and accurately receive, allocate, and distribute inventory and non-inventory material to Production work cells and internal team members.
Accurately process inventory transactions within the MRP system, such that there are no discrepancies between the reported quantity and the actual quantity on hand.
Work closely with Purchasing and Accounting to quickly reconcile any item balance discrepancies.
Unload and load materials from containers, trucks and or other vehicles and locate to appropriate locations for further processing.
Maintain work areas according to 5S principles.
Manage inventory and non-inventory items within their designated stocking location as well as point of use.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform incoming inspection. Determine acceptance of material and complete and process inspection documentation as required. Assist with the disposition of non-conforming material.
Fulfill pick ticket function ensuring the timely and accurate picking, packing, delivery, transaction, and maintenance of all documents associated with the process.
Maintain work cell shop supply bins.
High School Diploma
Minimum of three year of related experience in material distribution and manufacturing.
Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage personal work load with close attention to detail and prioritize multiple tasks.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Driven self-starter dedicated to continual process improvement.
Support compliance with policies, procedures, and safety rules and regulations.
Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and purchase orders, and understand inspection criteria and fabrication tolerances. Must be skilled with the use of measuring and inspection.
Ability to operate a forklift and warehouse equipment, and physically lift and move material.
Computer experience in Microsoft Office applications and Material Resource Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning type systems.
Follow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly.
Proficient in assigned crate construction and packaging techniques.
