Allegion EHS Officer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
This position is responsible for conducting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities at the Dubai manufacturing, office facilities and field service work associated with the business. This role will drive site EHS - communication, training, data analysis, and program development.
Track and analyze data, metrics and corrective actions using Gensuite (Allegion’s database).
Develop and document EHS procedures consistent with local governmental regulations (UAE) and Allegion’s standards including PPE, machine guarding, emergency preparedness, confined space, industrial hygiene, etc.
Assist in the development and execution of standard work to ensure the protection of employees.
Develop reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Own and implement the chemical database (MSDSOnline)
Develop and give EHS training
Conduct Job Safety Analysis by job function
Perform EHS inspections at the site, and track corrective action and preventive action findings to closure
Apply EHS concepts and tools to the work environment in order to reduce and eliminate risks and maintain compliance with EHS regulations and Allegion standards.
Participate in the corporate audit process as an EHS auditor
Keep up to date records of work-related injuries and illnesses. Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis determination as well as corrective action implementation.
Coordinate EHS engagement activities including the Green Team, Safety Committee, Emergency Action Team, and other projects and initiatives as needed.
Provide new hire orientation to educate new hires on EHS site policies and procedures.
Promote communication of near misses and EHS concerns.
Promote awareness and education activities, and provide guidance to workers in order to prevent accidents and illnesses through continuous campaigns.
Degree in Safety or the Sciences (biology, engineering, chemistry, environmental, geology, occupational health, etc.)
NEBOSH or CMIOSH Certifications
4-5 years of EHS experience with increasing levels of responsibility
Proven record of writing, interpersonal skills and communication skills
Knowledge of chemical hazards, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Proven record of analytical ability
Demonstrated use of Excel, Word, Access
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Tenacity/Do What It Takes
Effective Time Management and Personal Organization
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and use sound judgment
Ability to speak English and Hindi
